I am making food to take with me to an event this weekend, because I am a total geek that way. I'm so excited to do this. What's on the menu? I am glad you asked. I am making the following dishes from Scappi.


Torta d’herbe alla Lombarda - Lombard Tart

Insalata di arance tagliate a fette, servite con zucchero e acqua di rose - Sliced orange salad with rosewater and sugar

Per far minestra di Lenti secche - To prepare a thick soup of dried lentils

Uva fresca di piu sorti - Grapes of assorted colors - black and white

Oliva - Olives

Salsa viridis - Green Sauce

Mandorle e noci fresche - Fresh walnuts and almonds

Cascio - A Selection of Italian cheese including fontina & parmesan

Pane e olio – Bread and Oil

A far morselletti Romaneschi - To make Roman style morsels (cinnamon or anise flavored "cookies")

For drinks: lemon syrup, ginger syrup and sekanjabin.
